Trina Smith leads the winemaking vision for Mumm Terroir across Australia and New Zealand, bringing over two decades of expertise to the Mumm Terroir range. Since joining Pernod Ricard, Trina has championed innovation and terroir expression, culminating in the launch of Mumm Tasmania Prestige Brut in 2022—a sparkling wine that celebrates Tasmania’s cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and reflects Mumm Terroir’s emphasis on Pinot Noir.
Her role spans every aspect of the Mumm Terroir portfolio, from vineyard partnerships to crafting wines that embody precision, elegance, and a sense of place. Trina’s leadership ensures that Mumm Terroir continues to set benchmarks for quality and creativity in the Australian sparkling wine category, while exploring new frontiers in style and sustainability.
Recognised as a finalist for Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine’s Winemaker of the Year in 2020, Trina’s career journey is as inspiring as her wines. Originally studying finance at the University of Adelaide, she discovered her passion for wine and switched to Oenology, later honing her craft through vintages in California, South Africa, and Italy. Her global experience and deep understanding of sparkling wine have shaped her reputation as one of Australia’s leading winemakers.
